It was back in 1972 that the National Bank began its support for Belgian artists by buying some of their works of art. The art collection that has been built up since, now holds about 1 850 items. In this way, the National Bank clearly displays its support for the artistic creation of our country while affording its staff a unique and stimulating working environment.

The collection is part of the International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art (IACCCA).

Historical background
Since 1972, the National Bank assumed a role of patron, supporting contemporary Belgian artists.
The collection
The collection reflects all the main artistic trends from the second half of the 20th century and the 21st century.
Management
The National Bank's collection exclusively consists of works of art by contemporary Belgian artists or by  artists living in Belgium. The Bank regularly lends out items from its collection to museums, organisers of exhibitions and to both national and international cultural organisations.
